Restorer Property Services is a small, family-owned business rooted in Pitt County, North Carolina. Since 2014, we’ve been serving Eastern NC with home improvement and maintenance services homeowners can rely on — and in 2015, we expanded into a specialty close to our hearts: aging-in-place solutions.
Mark, one of our founders, brings more than a single trade to every job — he brings a career’s worth of hands-on experience across nearly every system in a home. He started out as an HVAC technician, then worked in carpet cleaning and water damage restoration, before moving into maintenance and management for large residential and student housing communities. There, he built deep, practical experience in plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and pool and spa maintenance.
Along the way, he also built a career as a manager for a South African-based lighting company, where he was responsible for bringing in large mass-store clients and running a merchandising team — experience that shaped his eye for both hands-on quality and running a business well. He also spent a period serving as a youth and assistant pastor, reflecting the same heart for people and community that he brings into every home he works in today.
When Mark founded Restorer Property Services, he began working with the Council on Aging on their aging-in-place and fall prevention programs — work that shaped the direction of the company. During that time, he earned his Master Plumber license, which allowed us to sharpen our focus toward plumbing and accessibility services.
Today, Mark is a licensed Master Plumber with a Universal EPA license, and has previously held pool licenses in both North Carolina and Arizona. Because of this varied background, he doesn’t just troubleshoot one system in isolation — he sees how plumbing, HVAC, structure, and safety all connect, allowing him to solve problems more wholistically than most.
While other companies send out a tech to do repairs, we send our Master Plumber — every time. That means our clients know exactly the level of service and expertise they’re getting on every single job, with no exceptions.
Delene, Mark’s co-founder, grew up involved in her family’s lighting business in South Africa, giving her an early, first-hand understanding of what it takes to run a large service-driven company. She went on to qualify as a speech-language pathologist and audiologist, and later earned a master’s degree in Early Childhood Intervention. She ran her own practice in South Africa for several years before she and Mark made the decision to move to the United States to begin their family.
They chose to settle in Mark’s hometown of Greenville, NC, making it the base for both their family and, eventually, Restorer Property Services. Since then, Delene has also successfully run her own reading tutoring business, and currently works part-time as a Quality Assurance Analyst in the healthcare space.
Our Story, Together
We’re proud to have been voted Best in Greenville for several years running in Home Improvements and Plumbing, and to remain a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite — recognition that means the most because it comes directly from our neighbors and clients.
As a licensed and insured, husband-and-wife-run business, we treat every home we work in as though it is our own. We believe in treating people fairly and honestly, but we also expect that treatment to be reciprocal. We hold ourselves to a high moral standard and we expect our clients to do the same as this leads to a better long-term relationship. Why? Because that relationship needs to be built on mutual trust — trust that means our clients can call us in the middle of a plumbing or home maintenance emergency and know we’re going to do everything we can to show up for them as soon as we possibly can. That doesn’t happen if the relationship is just a financial transaction, minus shared values.
